What does it mean to be a true leader? For Dr. Chanaé Jones, leadership is more than just a title—it is a lifelong commitment to service, sisterhood, and community transformation. Dr. Jones has built a remarkable legacy within Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., moving through the ranks from an undergraduate leader to her current role as the visionary Basileus of the Lambda Omega Sigma Chapter.
Dr. Jones’ leadership journey began at the Gamma Pi Chapter, where she served as Undergraduate Basileus and was honored as the 2009 Greek Member of the Year. Even during those early years, she demonstrated incredible resilience, balancing her academic responsibilities and three jobs while navigating significant personal family challenges. This foundation of grit and determination has defined her entire career.
Since chartering the Lambda Omega Sigma Chapter in 2013, her impact has been nothing short of transformational. She has been a driving force behind the chapter’s expansion. Starting with six Sorors, Lambda Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter is now a Centennial Chapter. Her commitment to the next generation is evident in her work supporting the Rhoer Club, Rhosebud Club, and Philo affiliates, ensuring a pipeline of mentorship and leadership development.
As Basileus during the Sorority’s historic centennial era, Dr. Jones has overseen the donation of scholarships to deserving students and the successful implementation of all five national programs. Her influence extends far beyond the sorority; she served as the Charter President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council - North Houston and has logged over 400 community service hours in the current year alone.
Professionally, Dr. Jones is a powerhouse. As a Doctor of Public Health and licensed occupational therapist, she founded DreamCatchers Therapy & Wellness Services and the non-profit Little Dreamers Corp to support underserved families and children with disabilities. A devoted mother of two and a tireless advocate for change, Dr. Chanaé Jones truly embodies "Greater Service, Greater Progress".
