When we asked about her "defining spark," Dr. Fizer-Rideaux shared a transformative moment precepting a student who had lost her confidence. That experience illuminated her true calling: to equip future nurses with competence, courage, and compassion. Her core mission is built on the belief that nursing education must cultivate both the mind and the heart. In her classroom and simulation environments, she strives to bridge the gap between clinical excellence and human connection, helping learners understand not only how to perform a skill, but why it matters to the patient’s experience.
Her journey has been one of persistence, particularly as she transitioned from clinical practice to full-time teaching. Rather than retreating from the challenges of engaging students, she leaned into professional growth—pursuing advanced leadership education and integrating innovative strategies like simulation-based learning. Today, she finds confirmation of her calling in the success of her graduates.
