February 2026 - Soror of the Month

The January 2026 Soror of the month is the brilliant and dedicated Soror Dr. Tyra Fizer-Rideaux! We had a chance to catch up with this dynamic Pretty Poodle to learn more about her "Luminous" journey and her incredible work in nursing education. Dr. Fizer-Rideaux, your commitment to the next generation of healthcare professionals is inspiring, and we are so LOS Proud of the impact you are making in the field!

When we asked about her "defining spark," Dr. Fizer-Rideaux shared a transformative moment precepting a student who had lost her confidence. That experience illuminated her true calling: to equip future nurses with competence, courage, and compassion. Her core mission is built on the belief that nursing education must cultivate both the mind and the heart. In her classroom and simulation environments, she strives to bridge the gap between clinical excellence and human connection, helping learners understand not only how to perform a skill, but why it matters to the patient’s experience.

Her journey has been one of persistence, particularly as she transitioned from clinical practice to full-time teaching. Rather than retreating from the challenges of engaging students, she leaned into professional growth—pursuing advanced leadership education and integrating innovative strategies like simulation-based learning. Today, she finds confirmation of her calling in the success of her graduates. As she beautifully puts it, each nurse she trains carries forward a piece of the educator who believed in them, creating "ripples of excellence and empathy" throughout the entire profession.
